Start by figuring out what kind of balance will work for you in your life.

What adjustments do you need to make to feel good and look the way you want?

Personally:

I am strict in certain areas: no gluten, low sugar, no fast food.
I am loose in others: wine, cheese, gluten free pasta.
This balance allows me to feel good, enjoy my food and look the way I want

5 Tips to be Healthier NOW!

75% of us want to be healthier.

80% of us have no idea where to start...

Despite the confusion, there are FIVE rock solid things you can do NOW to be healthier right away.

  1. Double your water intake (most of us don't get enough!)
  2. Include plenty of healthy fats (nuts, avocado, fish)
  3. Ditch your multivitamin (yes, do it! I have tons of great tips for creating an amazing supplement routine)
  4. Add 1 (more) serving of veggies to your day!
  5. MOVE!! I rarely say exercise, because getting up and moving your body can be SO beneficial! We tend to sit all day, so make a point to get up and shake it off!

5 Tips to Travel Healthy

My daily diet on the most recent trip I took looked something like this:

Bacon & eggs

Steak

Wine

Cheese

Tacos

Burgers

Ice cream

Yet...

  • I didn't gain a pound
  • I didn't feel sluggish, tired, or groggy
  • I slept great
  • I went to the gym every day
  • I fit into my clothes great
  • I had no bloat
  • I had no shame, guilt or remorse over my food choices

How is that even possible? If someone had told me this a year ago, I would not have believed them.

But it is true. 

I did all of this in the name of research for the No-Diet Diet Club Healthy Travel Module, and it worked like a charm.

Here are a few of the things I put into place...

  1. Plan ahead: 
    • This is truly the key to everything. Knowing ahead of time what splurges you will be enjoying and when you will be fitting in your movement uses your conscious brain (the one that wants you to fit into your pants comfortably) to make wise choices that will benefit you.

Pesto; the easy summer staple you need!

If you've ever had a home garden, you know this is the time of year when basil is out of control.

You have so much you don't even know what to do with it.

It smells amazing, you might use it as a garnish, throw it in a tomato salad, but as far as using up a whole lot of it....what do you even do?

PESTO! Pesto is the answer.

Really though, pesto is the answer to many questions:

"How do I make this chicken less bland?"

"What do I dip my veggies in?"

"What should I spread on these gluten free crackers?"

"What is the most delicious thing to eat in the summer?"

Pesto! It really does solve so many problems.

Slim Down Smoothie Bowl

 

 

What is a smoothie bowl, anyway?

It's really just a way to decorate your smoothie by putting it in a bowl. Still a normal smoothie that you can put in a cup, or whatever vessel you like:).

This smoothie is a SLIM DOWN because we use no fruit or sugar....which means this smoothie is completely made of vegetables!!

I bet your mouth is watering now..

No? Well let me tell ya, it's not as bad as it sounds. The green veggies we use are very bland, so smoothie really tastes like whatever protein powder we use.

Here's the recipe:

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • ½ zucchini (makes for a very creamy smoothie!)
  • 1 cup spinach
  • ¼ of an avocado
  • 1 T milled flax
  • 1 serving of your favorite chocolate or vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tsp matcha green tea powder (incredible for the metabolism!)
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • 1 cup of water
  • Ice

Garnish (optional):

  • 1 T chia seeds
  • 1 T coconut shavings
  • ½ sliced blood orange

Directions

  1. Blend all the ingredients except for the garnish until creamy.
